Launch market
Southern Ontario: GTA, Barrie and Muskoka
One of our two first markets: the Greater Toronto Area north through Barrie to Muskoka cottage country. We are starting with used pontoons and aluminum fishing boats about 16–26 ft. This page gathers what we can honestly offer Ontario shoppers today.
No live listings yet. We do not show dealer stock here, and no Ontario dealer has signed up or bought a placement. Nothing is submitted from this page.
What this site covers in Canada (and what it doesn't)
Our rules, cost and places data is built for the United States. We do not have an Ontario province page, Canadian city pages, a Canadian dealer list, Ontario ramp or marina lists, or Canadian versions of the true-cost and state-rules tools. Rather than guess, we point you to official Canadian sources below.
What still works from here:
- Which boat fits me? — its six questions (water, crew, activity, trips, storage, budget) do not ask where you live.
- Pontoon and tritoon and aluminum fishing model lists — specs come from each builder; prices shown are the builder's published US prices, so check Canadian pricing with a dealer.
- Printable used boat inspection and sea trial checklists.
Canadian rules to know before you buy
From Transport Canada (checked 2026-11-07):
- Pleasure Craft Licence (PCL): needed for a recreational boat with one or more engines totalling at least 10 horsepower (7.5 kW) that is principally operated and maintained in Canadian waters, unless it is registered instead. New and transferred licences are valid for 5 years, and licence information must be updated within 30 days. A PCL identifies the boat but is not proof of ownership, so ask a private seller for a bill of sale (apply for or manage a PCL).
- Proof of competency: anyone operating a recreational boat with a motor needs proof of competency, with every motor type including electric trolling motors. One accepted proof is the Pleasure Craft Operator Card (PCOC), which comes from a Transport Canada-accredited course provider and is valid for life (PCOC, education resources).
- Safety equipment and other rules: Transport Canada boating safety.
Fishing from your boat: the Government of Ontario publishes the annual Ontario Fishing Regulations Summary (licences, seasons, catch limits by zone).
Comparing boat types: Discover Boating Canada's boat finder. We did not find a Discover Boating Canada dealer-finder page we could verify, so none is linked.
Buying guides that apply in Ontario
These guides are written for US buyers. The inspection, sea trial, survey, negotiation, scam, trailering and cold-water advice carries over; registration, licensing and US Coast Guard rules inside them do not — use the Transport Canada links above instead.

For dealers in this market
Dealers in the GTA, Barrie or Muskoka selling used pontoons or aluminum fishing boats can list free through an authorized CSV or feed after written permission; we do not scrape dealer sites. Paid visibility (proposed Dealer Pro, $149 per rooftop per month) is not for sale yet. See For dealers or Advertise.
Placement preview — mock only

Paying never changes published specs, prices or guide advice. Any future paid placement remains subject to readiness and legal review.
